Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is the most intense psychedelic and also one of the most illegal substances in the world. The compound is extremely rare and difficult to acquire, yet it is perhaps one of the most common substances on Earth. It is synthesized within all human beings, as well as individual plants and animals. 

 

With this paradox in sight, I propose to explore the curiously inexplicable realms of DMT.  Just as the molecule is structured in such a dynamic way, so is my hybrid poetic project. Form and content work together to mirror the psychedelic compound when language is not enough. Stylistically, I implement genre-bending techniques;  the experimental aspect of the project functions to not only heighten the purpose of my work but also unearth more profound implications for the self.
